Love kids? Have interest, experience, and/or training in special needs kids? Want to help a couple of translators who are trying to complete the task of getting the Bible into the hands of the Salasaca Quichua people of Ecuador with their 13 yr old Down Syndrome son, David? His parents write: "David is a high-functioning Down Syndrome boy who loves to read and play soccer. He is well-behaved and a faithful friend. He goes to therapy at the local military base, which includes horse-back riding and swimming. Should you choose this mission, you would walk or bike with him to therapy each week. If you are a college student looking for adventure or a retired person who loves kids, this opportunity might be perfect for you. You would stay at the Waskosky's comfortable home in the town of Shell at the edge of the Amazon rainforest. Yes, they have electricity, phone, internet and there is even a missionary hospital within walking distance. There is a large missionary community there so you would have lots of opportunity for fellowship and other kinds of ministry, such as helping in the local orphanage, at the hospital, evangelism, bible studies, etc..."
This position is not salaried.
