Job: IT Network Security Engineer
Location: USA
Timescale: Starts 01 Jan 2011, full time
Do you have experience working with network security? Would you would like to use that skill to further Bible translation? Join the JAARS team serving SIL, Wycliffe, and affiliated organizations and use your skills to make an eternal impact! We have an urgent need to fill this position. Missionaries around the world rely on the JAARS IT department to provide PC and software support, repair services, e-mail service, and network troubleshooting for their IT needs. In our rapidly evolving world of technology, part of JAARS mission is to provide the technical capacity to help advance the work of those who are involved in Bible translation and language development. Due to ever increasing Internet security threats and our deployment of new tools and solutions, the Network Security Engineer position is critical to the safety and welfare of our missionaries around the world. In this position you will be working as part of a team of second and third tier experts to provide security consulting and troubleshooting for new technology which benefits missionaries worldwide. Much of your work will be in coordination with other technical IT personnel, although you may occasionally deal directly with the end-user to resolve problems or gather troubleshooting data. To qualify for this position you need experience in network administration, intrusion detection, and security auditing. You also need to be a good team player and one who is willing to document your work and share your learnings with those on your team. An interest in digging into new technology and standards is important in this role as well.
This position is not salaried.
