Job: File Conversion Assistant (Wycliffe Associates UK)
Location: United Kingdom
Timescale: 6+ hours per month (as work demands)
Future proofing media. Involved in (any of) transferring written, audio and visual materials from one media to another. Cassette tapes/reel to reel to digital (.mp3 and .wav etc.); Slides, filmstrips, video to digital (sundry formats); Various fonts to Unicode; Conversions to XTML / HTML
Skills/Attributes: Familiarity with (at least some) audio and computer equipment/software essential; Experience in file transfers preferable; ability to think logically; ability to link equipment to you computer essential; email conversant; willingness to learn new things, work without supervision and show initiative.
Qualifications: None essential
Equipment: Online computer with reasonably high spec. (suggest minimum 2 Ghz CPU, 1Gb RAM and spare 100Gb HDD) . Further equipment can be loaned to right applicants.
